About EN-Genius Network
Founded in 2001 under the banner of analogZONE, the expanded site that is EN-Genius Network is the premier source for electronic design engineers working in the fields of power management, audio/video, acquisition, connectivity, networking, wireless applications, dsp, programmable logic, and green engineering. sub-ZONEs covering these specific areas enable the designer to focus directly on products of interest, with timely and insightful reviews. News headlines and a calendar of events keep readers current, knowledgeable and informed, while companion ZONEs providing detailed technical notes and guest columns -- along with the usual trenchant commentary by our editors -- offer a wealth of information in an independent arena free from the limited detail permitted in print publications.
Paul McGoldrick, editor-in-chief
BBC-trained and with more than 30 years of practical engineering experience in the electronics industry, Editor-in-Chief Paul McGoldrick is uniquely qualified to bring EN-Genius Network's readers an informed and unbiased view on the latest products from analog manufacturers around the globe. Formerly the senior technology editor for such highly-regarded publications as Electronic Design, EDTN and ChipCenter's "Analog Avenue," and a decade-long past columnist for Broadcast Engineering magazine, Paul pulls together the best information from suppliers, analysts and applications specialists to deliver the web's most complete analog coverage. His direct responsibilities include the acquisition, audio/video, low-power, high-power and wirelessZONEs. Contact Paul at pjm at en-genius dot net.
Paul, wife Eileen, daughter Katie, and cosmic cats Andromeda, Apollo and Umbra have made the move north to Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, where they are relishing the natural beauty, learning French and ice skating, and desperately trying to think metric.
Lee Goldberg, Senior Section Editor
Armed with a BA in Electrical Engineering from Thomas Edison College, Lee spent 20 years deep in the bowels of the electronics industry before deciding to trade in his scope probe for a pen. He spent five years as the communication technology editor for Electronic Design magazine, then served as senior technology editor at ChipCenter, also covering communications and networking technology, before joining EN-Genius Network in March of 2002 as the primary editor of the ZONEs covering connectivity, networking, and all things "green." His latest book, Green Electronics/Green Bottom Line - A Commonsense Guide To Environmentally Responsible Engineering and Management, was recently published by Newnes Press. Lee, his wife Catherine, and his daughter Anwyn currently reside in the outskirts of Princeton NJ, where they masquerade as a typical suburban family.
Alex Mendelsohn, Senior Section Editor
Following a stint in the US Army Signal Corps, Alex earned his undergraduate degree at Hofstra University, working his way through school by writing technical manuals for the likes of the Sperry-Polaris submarine inertial navigation subsystem and the liquid oxygen-loading system for NASA's Lunar Excursion Module. A co-founder of Portable Design magazine, and later at the editorial helm of such vehicles as Integrated Circuits Magazine and EE Product News - as well as the author of a wide range of articles throughout the technical media - Alex brings an exceptional depth and breadth of electronics knowledge to this no-nonsense team. He joined the EN-Genius Network team in September 2007, covering Test & Measurement, Tools, Passives (rlcZONE), and Connectors. Contact Alex at amm at en-genius dot net.
