It is common practice to place the termination resistor as close as possible to the input pin of a device. For high-frequency amplifiers however, it may be beneficial to place the resistor a certain distance away in order to help tune the input stage and increase the overall bandwidth of the system. This TechNote hopes to show how simply adjusting the placement of the resistors in a layout can produce noticeable improvements in the bandwidth.
