Apologies, and Onward…
by Paul McGoldrick
I owe an apology to readers and vendors alike for my spotty performance in the last month. My health started to deteriorate badly before and after Christmas and I finally sought a hospital in-patient referral on a Friday in late January. On the Sunday I was asked to report on the following Tuesday. After ten days I was discharged with my blood pressure better than it has been since I was a teenager, with my appetite restored, and with a whole new perspective on life.
The bill from our BC “socialist” health care program? Zero. South of the border I would probably have been looking at an invoice of $50,000+. The only bit of paper that I received leaving the hospital building was a free voucher for a taxi to get me home…
So, I have some real catching up to do. This week we are publishing details of the Product of the Year Awards for 2009. They are being posted about three weeks later than normal but we think they will cause some small controversial itches, and we will see a number of these products being put up for reader consideration, by print publications, later in the year.
If you have sent me an e-mail in the last month and have not heard from me it is not me continuing to be rude; it is a attempt to prioritize what I have for content for the site.
I am in good health and raring to go. Please come visit often, and do stay longer than you may have in the past few weeks: we guarantee that more of the meaty content you've come to expect from us will give you good reason.
