Signals-From-Noise: Slew-Limited Filters
by Dave Van Ess, Principal Application Engineer, MTS, Cypress Semiconductor

Analog design deals primarily with providing stimuli and measuring response. In the middle there is signal conditioning. This sometimes requires separating the signal you want from all the rest that you don’t want. Linear filters allow the passing or rejection of specific frequencies. They are very useful and, no doubt, you can spend several long semesters studying them; I just spent three columns discussing Sallen Key filters in hopes of making them less intimidating.
