The typical approach to this sector doesn't even require an engineer at the helm: you take all the press releases that you receive, take a paragraph or two out of them to describe the new product and then add a news release photo if you have the space for it.

 

That's not how it is going to happen in this space.

 

We will be offering that most popular difference that has gained support, trust and respect at analogZONE (which is now a part of the EN-Genius Network) by putting our necks on the line by actually analyzing products in reviews. Those reviews will examine the products in what, how and why they are there; will critique where necessary; will condemn vaporware; will consider the accuracy of the pricing for the market. But, at the same time, we publish the vendor's news release without change of text or fact -- a unique opportunity to get directly to the designer.

 

We are not a news operation but we will offer links to news items from the previous week, or so, that we think the designer might want to go and look at. Most will be product news, but an occasional business story might be appropriate when it is significant.

 

We will also offer up Application Note links that we think might be worthwhile to a goodly proportion of our readership.

 

And, of course, there will be TechNotes from people in the industry giving hands-on assistance to designers; explaining how something works, why and how to use it.

 

So, we will be covering in this space: resistors, inductors, capacitors, transformers, passive switches, connectors, relays… all in an intelligent manner and adding value to our readers in all our content. And never forget the Editorials that will appear -- which will be direct and pointy; I am told I do have a pointy end!
